Hi! I’m Sara, an editor & filmmaker.

I’ve edited films and series like Aberdeen (TIFF 2024), Alter Boys (CBC), Ancient Bodies (National Geographic), and acclaimed short films like I Would Like To Thank My Body which won Audience Choice Award at Gimli International Film Festival 2023. I love stories that give us things we didn’t even know we needed, in ways we never expected. My favourite films are often introspective, disillusioned, and playful. I’m currently in Canadian Film Centre’s Norman Jewison Film Program Editors’ Lab 2025.

Films I’ve written and directed often explore mental health, identity, and relationships, and have screened with Gimli International Film Festival, Les Mains Gauches, and Toronto Jewish Film Festival. My short film Hot Dog Guy won a People’s Choice Award at Vox Popular Film Festival 2022. Recently, I was selected as a 2025 Manitoba Arts Council Riding Mountain Artist in Residence.

I’m also experienced with motion graphics, videography, community organizing & teaching, and marketing & communications. From 2019-2023 I organized OurToba Film Network, a community group for women, non-binary and gender diverse Manitobans in film. With my Bachelor of Commerce majoring in marketing and Creative Communications diploma majoring in media production, I love creating and revel in a well-organized spreadsheet.

Check out my work and reach out if you’re interested in collaborating!
